It is said that a dark terror stalks the mountain pass high above Cirith Ungol, traversing its winding tunnels and hunting any who stray into its domain. This creature is Shelob, the spawn of Ungoliant – a giant, bloated spider that has dwelt within Mordor for millennia. Over the Ages, countless beings have been ensnared in the webs of Shelob. Yet Shelob likes to feed on fresh, warm blood, preferring to inject her prey with a paralysing venom before entangling them in webbing to save for later.

The breaking of the oath pledged to Isildur lies with this King of Ages past. Though cursed, and his body long since reduced to dust, his spirit lingers on until he honours his word. Upon the arrival of Aragorn, this king agrees to take up arms against the armies of Mordor – the oath that was promised will finally be fulfilled and the dead will at last find the peace they so desperately crave.

This set contains the King of the Dead and two of his lieutenants, Heralds of the Dead. Each of these three Heroes can lead a warband of the Dead of Dunharrow, allowing you to use much larger armies of these spectral warriors in your games. Haleth is the eldest son of Helm Hammerhand, and heir to the throne of Rohan. When armies of the Hill Tribes come to bring ruin, Haleth takes up arms without hesitation. Unlike his older brother, Háma would rather sing of epic battles than partake in them. However, he is still more than capable in his own right and is particularly adept with the use of a bow.

This multipart plastic kit builds both Haleth & Háma, on foot and mounted, as skillful leaders for an Army of Edoras force. All four miniatures have multiple head options with choices between helmeted and unhelmeted. Both versions of Haleth may be built with either a sword, spear, or axe, and with various options for a sheathed or unsheathed sword, making it easy to customise your pair of princes.

Middle Earth SBG : Rohan Stronghold

Rohan is a proud realm that has ever stood against evil, yet it is no stranger to war and turmoil. Even now, bands of Dunlendings and scouting Uruk-hai raid the villages and settlements, killing people, destroying farms, and burning whatever buildings remain standing.

This multipart plastic kit builds a significant Rohan Stronghold for your armies to fight over in the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game. The six houses offer a number of assembly options with double-sided house walls – each with different details – and a choice of decorations for the timber roof lintels. Each can be built with one of three porch options, and the kit also includes a number of fences, barrels, and ropes for you to further decorate your houses. Both watchtowers include a warning bell with which defenders can sound the alarm, and are proudly adorned with the horse-head icons of Rohan. Each palisade includes a walkway that is 25mm wide to accommodate archers or fighters manning the walls. The palisade gate can be assembled to open or close freely, and can hold a removable crossbeam to allow defenders to lock the gate. This kit also includes eight ladders to reach the palisades, of which four can be connected to make a pair of taller ladders for infantry to reach the watchtowers.

In times of war, the warriors of Rohan will take up arms to protect their homes and villages against any who would seek to invade their lands. When the armies of the hill tribes gather outside Edoras, these hardy warriors stand defiant, felling Hill Tribesmen with sword, axe, bow, and spear.

This multipart plastic kit builds 24 Rohan Warrior infantry, ideal for defending positions while the nimble cavalry attacks. They can be taken by a variety of Good armies, including Kingdom of Rohan, Defenders of Helm’s Deep, Army of Edoras, Defenders of the Hornburg, Men of the West, and Realms of Men. They can also be used to represent an Evil Rohirrim Traitor unit. Well equipped and trained, they retain individual character without a formal uniform. Armed with a mix of weapons and gear, eight of them carry a spear and shield, another eight wield a mix of hand weapons and shields, and the last eight hold bows. The shields have a mix of Rohan-themed markings, and are fully interchangeable across the miniatures that can take them.

The barbaric Hill Tribesmen reside within the lands to the West of Rohan. Living in fractured communities, the tribesmen have long nurtured a hatred of the Rohirrim and, when rallied to a unified cause, this mindless rabble of dishevelled barbarians can turn into an army capable of threatening even Edoras itself.

This multipart plastic kit builds 24 Hill Tribesmen infantry, ideal for flooding the battlefield with overwhelming numbers. They can be taken in a variety of Evil armies, including the Army of the White Hand, Usurpers of Edoras, and Besiegers of the Hornburg, and they can also be used to represent the Wildmen of Dunland. As they’re not part of a standing army, they’re equipped with a mix of different types of weapons, some of them improvised. Eight of the models may carry spears or two-handed weapons, another eight can wield flaming brands or hand weapons, along with optional shields. The last eight can be armed with bows.

Easterlings are amongst the most fanatical followers of the Dark Lord and the best equipped of all the warriors at his command. Unlike the rabble of Orcs that spew forth from the Black Gate, the armies of the East are well-trained and disciplined warriors that will fight fiercely for Sauron, who they view as a vengeful deity. As children they are schooled in the art of war, and their womenfolk fight alongside the men as equals – in Rhûn all are prepared to fight for the Dark Lord. Trained to fight in deadly phalanxes, their spears form a hedge of sharpened blades that is virtually impenetrable – only a foolish general would send his warriors to take on a block of Easterlings head on.

The Ringwraiths, or Nazgûl, were once the Kings of Men, the bearers of the magical rings created by Sauron. Their rings granted endless life but gradually enslaved the Kings to Saurons will. Together with their leader, the Witch-king of Angmar, they are known as the Nine and are the most deadly of Sauron’s servants.

This box set contains one multipart plastic Winged Nazgûl. This 31-piece kit can be assembled as either a Ringwraith mounted on a Fell Beast and includes two different Ringwraith head and weapon-arm variants, or as the Witch-king mounted on armoured Fell Beast.
