Quatermain offers multiple paths to victory. Like most deck-builders, chaining together powerful adventure cards is always a solid strategy. However, you also have cards that remain in play: guns and allies, of which you can select one of each to take on your adventure each turn. You can save up for expensive cards that will provide ongoing benefits each turn or even focus on an ammunition-heavy deck to give yourself control over the hunting phase. In addition to animals, the African veldt on which you hunt is also home to dangerous enemies. Strategic hunting can deprive your opponent of easy targets and force them to deal with enemies, or pay the penalty for failing to do so.
